Spiritism as defined by Allan Kardec is truly a remarkable science able to aid the serious student on holistic and spiritualist disciplines to sort out opinions from facts and challenge dogma, blind faith, mysticism and taboos. Kardec was a remarkable scientist who conducted his studies of spiritual phenomena with rare lucidity, open mind and rationality. His studies have a strong influence to me and that's why I decided to put out my own short version of "What is Spiritism", highlighting a few points that is often missed. I hope you like it!
What is the spiritual practice of the awakened minds? We see it as being that of collaboration, of plurality of ideas, of humble and honest search for knowledge and inner development. This practice, however, cannot suit the flaws of character of those locked in their own pride, wishing to impose their beliefs on all and make the world cater to their needs. This practice is inadequate to those who are still constrained by sects of knowledge, closed to new paradigms and our urgent need to recycling ideas and make change. This practice is not adequate to those who do not question their own certainties. It is not adequate to those still attached to syntax rather than meaning. It is also not adequate to those who seek meaning without labor and study. This practice is for those who consciously celebrate freedom and diversity, knowing how to coexist among individuals who express opposing ideas. If alone we are tremendously limited, united we more thoroughly are able to reach the truth.
