After all, what does it mean to be a “Spiritualist”?

I’d like to propose some reflections for you who consider yourself a catalyst of positive change in the world, especially if you also consider yourself a spiritualist. I have met hundreds of people that fit the description above and observed many more in physical and online (such as Facebook) groups on various religious and spiritualistic … Continue reading After all, what does it mean to be a “Spiritualist”?

Hyperspace and Hypertime from a Spiritual-Scientific Perspective

You might be familiar with the equation E=mc^2, however perhaps you don’t know this is just a simplified version of Einstein’s relativity equation, modified by a proportionality constant known as the Einstein-Lorentz Transformation. This simplification, in general terms, eliminates certain system’s properties such as time distortion and changes of length, width, and mass over different … Continue reading Hyperspace and Hypertime from a Spiritual-Scientific Perspective

After all, what does it mean to be a “Scientist”?

Who am I? Where do I come from? What am I doing here? Where will I go after? For centuries we have asked such questions and never fully answered them. Science and religion/spirituality are both trying to answer them and it is clear now that both are required so we continue to make progress on … Continue reading After all, what does it mean to be a “Scientist”?

Is there DOGMA in Science?

We know of religious dogma, but is there dogma also in science? Rather than discoursing about the topic, we'll share a banned TED Talk by Rupert Sheldrake (click on image below) where he approaches this topic. You can draw your own conclusions. According to Sheldrake, the 10 Dogmas of Science are: Everything is mechanical; only mechanistic … Continue reading Is there DOGMA in Science?

What is Spiritism?

Spiritism as defined by Allan Kardec is truly a remarkable science able to aid the serious student on holistic and spiritualist disciplines to sort out opinions from facts and challenge dogma, blind faith, mysticism and taboos. Kardec was a remarkable scientist who conducted his studies of spiritual phenomena with rare lucidity, open mind and rationality. His studies have a strong influence to me and that's why I decided to put out my own short version of  "What is Spiritism", highlighting a few points that is often missed. I hope you like it!

Let me also note that this text is addressed to people of all nationalities, although primarily focused on the American public with which I have more direct contact. With these two basic parameters clarified, let me then … Continue reading A Proposal for Spiritists Within and Outside Brazil

The Spiritist Method of Study & How to Advance Spiritism Today

What is the spiritual practice of the awakened minds? We see it as being that of collaboration, of plurality of ideas, of humble and honest search for knowledge and inner development. This practice, however, cannot suit the flaws of character of those locked in their own pride, wishing to impose their beliefs on all and make the world cater to their needs. This practice is inadequate to those who are still constrained by sects of knowledge, closed to new paradigms and our urgent need to recycling ideas and make change. This practice is not adequate to those who do not question their own certainties. It is not adequate to those still attached to syntax rather than meaning. It is also not adequate to those who seek meaning without labor and study. This practice is for those who consciously celebrate freedom and diversity, knowing how to coexist among individuals who express opposing ideas. If alone we are tremendously limited, united we more thoroughly are able to reach the truth.

Boundary-less Spiritism and the Spiritual Practice of the New Millennia

God is not adept of any religion. Nature, both physical and non-physical, is independent of our beliefs and opinions about it. Science and religion are only human interpretations of the laws that govern the universe and our relationship with it as individual consciousnesses. Every law of physics reflect an attempt to interpret the mechanisms of … Continue reading Boundary-less Spiritism and the Spiritual Practice of the New Millennia
